Common Landscaping Mistakes

There is only one culprit behind all of the common landscaping mistakes, and that is the fact that a good plan is "missing in action". It cannot be denied how there are just so many people out there who purchase whatever plants they fancy on impulse. There are even people who think it is perfectly all right to just pluck out a plant or flower from a certain garden and then place it in their own garden or lawn. Yes, this is all right – for the time being.

You do have to realize that these plucked out plants and flowers do grow all in good time. Since these plants and flowers were just bought on impulse, well, what would these say about cohesion and design? Plants and flowers do have their own beautiful colors, and having a centralized theme for these shades and hues would certainly make things better for you. Without cohesion and a central theme, your garden could very well become, well, a zoo all on its own. This is one very common landscaping mistakes mady by homeowners that you should avoid at all costs.

Another common landscaping mistake is the imitation of large lawns. Now, it is very normal for you to want to imitate the next-door neighbor’s large lawn because it looks very nice, very soothing, and appealing to the eye. However, you have to understand that it is more important to go for a lawn that suits your own preference and style the most. Think about it, are you willing to shed time and effort mowing such a large lawn? If not, then just go for the usual and simple moss so that your lawn would still have that appealing natural shade.

You should not forget the autumn season as well. Most of the time, gardeners would have only spring and summer in consideration – perfectly understandable since these seasons are ideal for growing flowers. But it would not be nice to leave your garden so bare when autumn sets in, right? Check if there are fall flowers that you can plant in your vicinity.

You can check landscaping books and websites on the Internet for this. If there are no such flowers, then you can go for berries instead. Stick with a central theme for this still. Arrow-wood viburnum is pretty good to have during autumn. Red and blue berries make great choices as well.During winter, you can go for shrubs and trees so that you can easily break up that snowy white landscape of yours. Make sure their barks bear berries as well. And yes, a central theme is still a must here. These are just some tips you might find useful when planning your own landscaped gardens.
