Shed Kits

Shed kits come in many forms. Wooden, metal and plastic sheds can be purchased as kits that you put together yourself. In fact the majority of sheds do come in kit form.

Of all three types plastic kits are the easiest to assemble. Each shed section usually comes as one large sheet that slots into the base and is then held in place with plastic screws and brackets. Plastic sheds usually only have a few parts and take minimal time and effort to put together.

Metal sheds are more complex. Each wall section is usually made up of several corrugated sheets that are held together with metal rivets and screws. The shed also has a metal frame that each wall section and the roof screw onto. There are quite a few parts but an average size shed can still be completed on your day off.

Wooden sheds consist of floor and wall panels, roof panels and roof felt. The shed walls usually have any windows and doors ready built into them so these don’t need to be added. Some sheds will also already have the roof felt or material fixed to the roof. As the walls and floor of a wooden shed are heavier than other kits you will need two people for construction.
